That's exactly what I was going to say.
ちょうどそれを言おうと思っていたんですよ。

「そのとおり!」と相手の意見に賛成していることを伝えられるひと言。ここで使われているExactlyは「ちょうど、まさに」という意味の副詞。応用としてこのフレーズの後にさり気なく自分の伝えたいことを言う、というテクニックもつかえる。 

Dialogue 1
I think we should consider updating the system.
That's exactly what I was going to say.

Dialogue 2
If we look at the study, it seems clear that the new store should be in Ginza.
That's exactly what I was going to say.

Dialogue 3 
The part we added turned out to be just what the project needed.
That's exactly what I was going to say. I thought it was fantastic.

Exactly! Co-workers tend to warm up to who are like-minded. So, along with adding emphasis, this phrase is very friendly.

Well, if you think about it, it's not uncommon to have the same reaction or response to what someone is saying. For example, if someone is retiring from the company, you're likely not alone in wanting to say, "Good luck!" 
In a more detailed account, it can be pretty fun when two or more people try to say the same thing at the same time. In this instance as well, following up with, "That's exactly what I was going to say!" will have everyone laughing.
